THREXTON
A brief history
Threxton is a very small village, abutting Little Cressingham on its west, and Watton just 2 miles to its east. It is set in the heart of beautiful Breckland countryside, where delightful open country with ‘big skies’ surround this mainly farming community.
Peddars Way, the Roman footpath from Knettishall Heath, near Thetford, to Hunstanton, runs right through Threxton and Little Cressingham. From the pathway you can appreciate the commanding views over the shallow valley to the new Windfarm at North Pickenham.
Wildlife abounds in this area and you can regularly see a wide variety of species from owls to deer and foxes.

All Saints Church (photo right) forms the centre of the Threxton community where services are held regularly. Details can be found on the notice boards. Parts of this Church, with it’s splendid round tower, are believed to date back to the 13th century. Visitors have many reasons for coming. Some arrive with sketch pads and pencils to capture views of both the Church and the surrounding countryside, others are fascinated by the architecture of the Church and its history. Some simply visit just to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Threxton. It is here to be enjoyed by all.
